11 Months Old

11 months.....I can't believe it. Where has the time gone? This week I was reminded just how precious life is as a high school acquaintance lost his 4 month old son. We do not know the number of our days therefore we must live each day to its fulliest. With that in mind, I more than ever want to soak in each milestone of Owen's and realize that he is the Lord's first and he is on loan to Jeremy and me.

So what is Owen doing now...

At 11 months, he is:
  • 21 lbs. and 29 inches tall (according to my calculations)
  • Nursing 3x a day, and drinking one sippy cup of milk. We are in the midst of weaning and we're taking it slow.
  • Sleeping 10 hours a night, waking around 5, nursing then going back to sleep for 2 more hours. Naps have not been as consistent lately as I would like. We're working on it.
  • Has 6 teeth (2 on top, 4 on the bottom)
  • Eating a wide variety of foods and more of it. His favorites are: blueberries, yogurt, black beans, cheese sticks, and bananas. (Evidently he likes things that start with b.) It's funny because he has started to recognize these and gets super excited when we pull them out of the fridge.
  • can go from crawling on his belly to the sitting position. This is especially fun when he does it when he is supposed to be going to sleep.
  • is getting up on his hands and knees but refuses to move on them. :P
  • crawling really fast on his belly and is into everything! He loves to find power cords and the tags on the bottom of our living room curtains.
  • smiles extremely big when he hears Jeremy unlock the door and come in from work.
  • saying mama and neun (German for 9...yeah I don't know) all the time.
  • loving his LeapFrog table.
  • has pulled up his feet once.
  • a flirt. He waves and smiles at all the ladies in the grocery store, Target, or any restaurant.
  • loves board books especially the small ones he can hold in his hands.
  • as always a joy in our lives. We praise God for a healthy, happy, and cute little boy! :)
