Color Run

On November 17th, I participated in my first ever 5K, the Color Run.  When I signed up to do this race back in the summer, it was supposed to motivate me to run more.  I did start working out about twice a week but it was sadly inconsistent.  Needless to say, I didn't know I would get pregnant during the training season either. That being said, it wasn't the best I could have done, but it was fun.

The race was at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord. I ran/walked it with our friend Emily, who is also pregnant. The race was hugely popular and very crowded. The premise of the race is that participants wear all white and after every kilometer, volunteers through colored powder at you.  After the race, you are covered in color!

Here's everyone at the start line...it was a crazy long line and this was just the first installment.  There were 3 waves, none of them were timed.

Emily and I at the start line.  It was very chilly that morning so our sweat bands became ear warmers.

Coming into the final kilometer.  Sadly the course was extremely hilly so we had to walk the middle portion.

Somehow I didn't get the end picture, but here is my face after the race covered in pink powder.

It really was a fun race and I would do it again (but after more training)!
