"My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God."
Wow, this is some powerful stuff! I came across this today in my quiet time and it just struck me. How many times do we want to know what the Lord's will is or what to even know how to know Him more and here is it. Here is our part! I questioned myself here as I was reading this, "How attentively do I listen or do I just think I know what God wants? Am I inclining my heart to know Him?
How often do you (or I really) seek out His understanding like you would seek out silver and gold? I confess that I seek out more information on Google than I seek out in my Bible. That is just sad!
This new year I swore I was going to do better in reading my Bible. I found a reading plan and I have stuck to it so far. It also helps that Jeremy is reading along side me and we discuss it afterward. I enjoy our discussions because he can bring a lot of insight into it because of his seminary classes esp. his Genesis class.
While we are on the subject of my husband, I just want to publicly honor him because he is a pretty AWESOME husband! I know I give him grief and most of the time take him for grant but he does so much and loves/gives/serves so unconditionally. He never complains or gets angry, which is quite the contrast from me. From cooking to woodworking to computers, the man can do it all! Ladies, he will even do housework! I really do appreciate him though I never say it enough, so babe if you are reading this (which you don't really) I want to say thank you and that I love you!
