Would you like for the teacher to explain, or will you accept mine?

Hearing no objection, I will proceed to explain.
You multiply the 7 girls times 2 legs per girl and you get 14 legs. (Of course one assumes that each of the girls has two legs.)
Next it says that each girl has 7 bookbags. (Of course it doesn't explain why.) So you multiply 7 girls times the 7 bookbags and get a total of 49 bookbags. Inside each bookbag, there are 7 big cats. (That seems a bit of a stretch, doesn't it.) So you multiply 49 times 7 and get 343 big cats and then multiply 343 times 4 and get 1372 legs on the big cats. Then there are 7 little cats for every big cat. So you multiply 343 times 7 and get 2401 little cats. Then, of course, you multiply 2401 little cats times 4 and get 9604 little cat legs. Now we simply total up all the legs on the bus, remembering not to count the bus driver's legs per the instructions. So we add 14, 1372, and 9604, which totals 10,990. Every time!
Now I want to ask, would I have made a good teacher?
