Phi Beta Chi Love

During my years at UNC-CH, I was in an Christian sorority called Phi Beta Chi.  It was no secret that we loved making a shirt for every event we put on. It was a running joke with some of the guys in my dorm that we even made a shirt when we all went to the bathroom.

Needless to say, I had A LOT of shirts. After my college days were over, I continued to wear the shirts for many years. There comes a point though were you have to retire those shirts and move on.  I didn't want to get rid of my shirts or just have them sit in a box some where collecting dust.  I had seen this awesome t-shirt quilt in one of the houses that I babysat for one summer. I took that idea and ran with it.

Sadly I had so many shirts I could have made a king size comforter I think.  After narrowing it down to some of my favorites, I enlisted the help of some of the best sewers and quilters I knew. I started this quilt in 2008 with the help of one of student's moms.  She is a master quilter and she helped me cut and organize the quilt.  Emma, my mother in law, then stepped in to help me actually sew it together. Truth be told, she probably ended up sewing more on this quilt then I did...she just is so talented.

So now 3 years later, I now present the final product...
The entire blanket...the size of twin comforter

LOVE THIS!!! I want to do the same thing with Natalie's and Archer's outfits from when they were babies. I would like to present them to them when they have children. Was it hard? How do I do this too?? You rock, Shannon!!
