Sewing Projects

It's summer time, which means I have time for stuff that I wouldn't normally have time to do during the school year. One thing I love to do is sew. With our son coming this fall, I decided to do some projects that would benefit him. The first project was homemade burp cloths. I searched the internet and found this super crafty girl's blog I found her tutorial as well as some other fun projects I'm going to make.

Here are my final products.

I made three different ones. The first 3 (l to r) I used some left over UNC fabric. The middle 4 are made with baby flannel and the last one is some left over lamb fabric. I made 2 different sizes after creating my own template.

Here is a close up shot of each of them. The middle one uses the fraying technique I learned on the blog but the outer do not because of the fabric they were made from. They were all super easy and will make great baby gifts for all the showers to come.

These pictures were taken with the new camera. It's way more complicated and fancier that what we used to have so please forgive me if they aren't the best pictures. Jeremy is currently obsessed with the camera and has been reading all about it and playing with it constantly. Boys and their toys. :)

(On another note, please pray for him on Monday. He has a job interview with a local college in their media dept. It's very similar to what he is doing now, so we're hoping he has a good chance.)

I would love for you to make one for our grandson! We prefer to have Duke Blue Devil one. Would that be too much to ask?

Windot, I'm glad that you guys liked the cornholes. Jeremy was the main culprit in making those and he's busy doing a website for someone right now. But maybe he could make one later. 007, I don't know if I can make anything Duke! I think it's against my religion!

Those are cute, and I totally understand the urge to be crafty and create things.

Currently I have a dress I want to make, but I don't know how to cut out a perfect circle....Any suggestions, sewing guru?

Hope you're enjoying your summer break!
